EmPeraw Meet MTN Hitmaker season III finalist

The rapper was shot to fame when he entered season III of the popular reality show, MTN Hitmaker where he placed 2nd runner-up in the finale.

Born to Mr. Peter Adjei and Mrs. Gladys Adjei, Augustine Agyei who is known in the showbiz circles as EmPeraw hails from Bekwai in Ashanti Region of Ghana, West Africa.

The 21-year old artiste has for the past four years made significant progress in the HipHop, HipLife genre of Ghana’s music. Starting actively from the year 2012, he keeps making good strides in the music industry and promises a bright future with his career.

EmPeraw was born as a single child and has spent a chunk of his life in Lapaz in the Greater Accra Region. He had his basic school education at St. Johns School (Accra), where he was elected school prefect in 2009 and proceeded to Ofori Panin Senior High School.

Augustine Adjei is currently a student of University of Ghana studying Sociology and Information Studies.

The rapper was shot to fame when he entered season III of the popular reality show, MTNHitmaker where he placed 2nd runner-up in the finale.

During his participation in the contest, he won the admiration of the judges and fans from the beginning to the end, as he kept his chin up.

The TV show saw him perform one of his well composed hits ‘Mepaw Kyew’ meaning ‘I Apologise’, which earned him the ‘Best Performance’ in that episode of the contest. EmPeraw was said to have stolen the hearts of top-notch Ghanaian musicians such as Hammer of the Last 2, Bessa Simons, Ofie Kudjoe and many others. He was adjudged second-up runner of the contest.

His career has seen an appreciable turn-up. He is currently signed to Adinkra Metrix Multimedia, managed by renowned Ghanaian music publisher, Prince Fiifi Cudjoe well known as Fiifi Adinkra

EmPeraw has so far worked with top-ranking music producers including Fortune Dane of Dope Music, itzCJ, Senyo Cue of CUE Records, Qwesi King, Two Bars and Seshie. His tracks, "Jah Guide", "Obiase", "Mepaw Kyew" among a tall list of others have performed quite well on the music scene.

After winning the SHS 16 contest, the rapper was privileged to be featured on the song ‘Momma Loves Me’, off the TMG album, a collaboration cocktail by Sarkodie and Jayso.

His songs "Obiase", "Caro" and "Listen To Your Heart" were featured on the popular TV Series "YOLO".

Augustine loves playing games as a hobby, aside doing sketches and digital arts.

EmPeraw, the most promising young artiste of our time is currently preparing his debut album slated for release later this year.
