The Rap scene in America is flourishing because the right talent is meeting their audience thanks to the right label management team faster than ever. One of best in business in George “G-Money” Dickinson. Here he reflects on the top highlights of his stellar career.
George Dickinson has worked with the likes of rapper Juice WRLD and calls it one of the best successes of his life. He says, “I immediately knew that a star is born when his sophomore album Death Race For Love became no. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart. His first-week tally of 165,000 units was the largest streaming week for an R&B/hip-hop album in 2019. We started with promoting his shows all over Chicago at a time when not a lot of artists were ready for the city. But it was worth taking a chance on and I am glad it turned out well in the end.”
The world of rap is very competitive and at the same time immersive and engaging. Therefore, when Australian rapper The Kid Laroi surfaced on the scene, George Dickinson knew he’s something different and encouraged his talent. He says, “The Kid Laroi is special. He’s still working on his debut album but we made him open for Juice WRLD at Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park, Australia in 2019 and Lil Tjay at First Avenue in Minneapolis in 2020. This got him attention and people were struck by his talent and his tender age.”
