Sarkodie’s 3rd studio album, “Sarkology”, gave birth to classics, but “Adonai” remix which features missing Castro Under Fire, gave his career a major boost. The Nana Asihene-directed visual for the slow-tempo afro-pop song which was produced by Street Beat is the most viewed music video on YouTube by a local artiste, with nearly 69 million streams.

The last decade has witnessed great hits, but Guilty Beatz’s gem has travelled far. The mileage the afrobeats jam has received is still a shock to many because it came across as one of ‘usual afrobeats’ songs. The multiple award-winning song, which was released last year, has enjoyed massive airplay in Ghana and has also crossed over.

This was the official Xmas jam of 2011. The following year, it also became the official jam for Kwehu Easter – one of the most popular Easter festivals in Ghana. The afro-pop song moved from a local hit to international hit, attracting huge streaming from music lovers across the world.

We wish the duo were back! “Simple” moved Flowking Stone and Kunti Kinte to the next level. In 2010, they dominated charts, broke records and gained multiple nominations with just this song. The hiplife record ‘hacked’ airwaves and banged in clubs and at parties.

This song doesn’t need an introduction. Arguably Shatta Wale’s biggest career hit after “Dancehall King” and “Taking Over”, the mid-tempo afro-pop/afro-dancehall song rocked every event when it dropped in 2017. Coming off of Bisa Kdei’s “Breakthrough” album which was released in 2016, “Mansa” gave the singer cum producer a major career boost. The song was the official Xmas jam that year and successfully crossed over. The video for the song has over 11 million views on YouTube alone.

If you missed “Christy”, then you should go back in time. A nationwide hit, the fast-tempo highlife reeled 2016 and rocked the year after. Produced by Danny Beatz, the song went straight to the top of every chart upon release and helped them win the “Most Popular Song of the Year” at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards before their split.
