The bloody incident occurred at Gindabuo, a village on the Sawla-Wa highway in the Sawla District of the Savannah Region.

According to Adomonline.com, John Banuda went berserk, chased up his mother, Rebecca Banuda Yibilena until she fell on the ground before he stoned her to death.

The news website reported some residents of the area as saying that the deceased was taking care of her son who is epileptic at a prayer camp in Nabel near Gindabuo.

John Banuda had wanted to travel back home at midnight but his mother talked him out of the decision because it was late and the distance was too long to travel by foot.

Although he understood and went to sleep, he woke up on Monday night and insisted on going back home.

Again, the deceased managed to convince him to abandon the idea but he felt unconscious in the process and woke up the next day acting very violent. He attacked his mother and fled after murdering her.

Adomonline.com reports the Sawla District Police Commander, ASP De-Graft Adjei as having confirmed the incident, saying a search is underway to arrest John Banuda.

He added that an investigation has been initiated into the incident while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Sawla District Hospital.
