Joe Manganiello Just Shut Down a Pro Wrestler Who Hated on Dungeons & Dragons

Despite being more than four decades old and with millions of players around the world, Dungeons & Dragons is still sometimes thought of as a nerds pastime, a game played by emotionally stunted men in dimly lit basements.

Joe Manganiello Responds to D&D Troll

At least, thats the stereotype professional wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman (known as MJF in the ring) was playing on when he looking swole in a Golds Gym tank top, showing off his guns. Its a perfectly innocuous picture, until you get to the caption. I dont play dungeons and dragons, MJF wrote.

The reaction was swift and fierceand almost entirely against Friedman. The immensely ratioed tweet provoked responses ranging from a suggestion that Friedmans mom rolled a 1 when she gave birth to him to much more amiable invitations to give D&D a try. One user pointed out that famous jocks Vin Diesel and Terry Crews are known D&D players.

One of the more etherizing retorts came from Joe Mangianello, who , I do above a Muscle and Fitness magazine cover featuring him shirtless, , staring down the camera.

MJF seems committed to the bithe followed up by declaring , Turns out geeks that live in their parents basement and play dungeons and dragons are VERY VIOLENTbut the whole thing feels like trolling (or kayfabe, whichever you prefer). Brandon Cutler, whos soon to face MJF in the ring, responded : I do play Dungeons and Dragons. That sets up their match as a primal battle of nerd-hero versus jock-heel, though in the battle for Twitters affection, its the jock whos gotten owned.
