Buhari reportedly defeats Jonathan in 7 states

Buhari is said to have won the upper hand in Ogun, Kwara, Kogi, Jigawa, Ondo, Osun and Kano States.

According to early results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari has defeated President Goodluck Jonathan in some states.

According to INEC, Buhari won 1,903, 999 votes in Kano to beat Jonathan who won 215,779.

In Kogi State, INEC Collation Officer, Adikwu Michael announced that Buhari polled 264,851 votes out of the 439,287 votes that were cast while Jonathan won 149,987 votes. Buhari won in 15 of the 21 LGAs of the state while President Jonathan won in 6 LGAs.

In Jigawa State, INEC returning officer, James Ayatsa announced that Buhari garnered a total of 885, 988 votes while Jonathan won 143, 904 votes.

Buhari also defeated Jonathan in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Results are still coming in and the official announcement of who becomes President-elect will be made by INEC later today, March 30.
