A deadly tornado has ripped through Tulsa, Oklahoma killing one person and injuring several others, BBC reports.
Tulsa police said the death occurred inside a mobile home park near suburban Sand Springs.
While the exact number of casualties is not known, Tulsa Sheriff's Capt Billy McKinley said the damage"could have been much worse"
He further said it was unclear whether the damage was caused by the tornado or just high winds.
According to the news site, US has not had a tornado in more than a month, save for when a waterspout formed over an Arkansas lake, marking a slow start to the season.
As of last week only 2 dozen twisters had been reported in the US, when typically more than 100 are recorded by this time each year.
