This is particularly, the footbridge at the Nogahill Hotel which is close to the Dzorwulu traffic light on the motorway.
According to reports, the footbridge got damaged when it was hit by a truck last Thursday evening.
Footbridge on N1 Highway2
Some of the residents claimed that some damage was done to the footbridge last December by some overloaded trucks and called on the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) to carry out regular maintenance works on footbridges across the country and also strictly enforce the axle load regime.
Since it opened to motorists in February 2012, a lot of pedestrians have been killed due to the absence of footbridges and proper Zebra crossing signs on the highway.
However, the GHA, in a statement issued in Accra yesterday, said it would soon repair the footbridge.

It added that the works would be completed in three days.
