According to Graphic Sports, the project cost GH₵524,000. The facility was constructed by Hartiffan Company Limited, a local Ghanaian company.
The new pitch comes with a 10-seater technical sitting bench, a perimeter fencing and a 40,000-litre storage water facility to keep the pitch fresh and green.
Meanwhile, the contractor of the project has recommended the installations of floodlights, building of changing rooms and a proper maintenance contract with experts to prolong the durability of the pitch.
Mr Charles Amissah Koomson, consultant to the project, said the pitch is one of the best in the country but could still be improved to a higher level.
On his part, the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN, Ghana, Mr Noel Kojo Ganson said the investment preceded a previous contribution of GH₵375,000 made by MTN towards the construction of changing rooms and offices for the technical staff of Asante Kotoko in 2011.
