CAF strip Ghana of hosting Africa U-17 Qualifying Championship
The Confederation of African Football has handed the 2017 Africa U-17 qualifying championship hosting rights to Niger.

In 2017 it was decided that the qualifiers for the next edition of the CAF U-17 Championship will be done on zonal basis.
Ghana was selected to host the West Africa Zone B qualifiers for the Africa U-17 Championship to be staged in Tanzania next year.
The countries that will be doing battle for a place in Tanzania 2019 from the Zone B are Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger, Nigeria and Togo.

However, Ghana have been stripped of the hosting right and reports say the decision was due to the ongoing crisis that has hit Ghana football.
The Black Starlets will now travel to Niger to face countries from other parts of West Africa in the zone B.
It would be recalled that investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas' latest expose' dubbed 'Number 12' caught several football administrators and match officials on camera receiving monies suspected to be briibes.
The government of Ghana in its quest to dissolve the Ghana Football Association (GFA), after the 'Number 12' expose' has got a court order to restrain the GFA from carrying out their normal duties.

Government in order to avoid a ban from FIFA has engaged the World football governing body on best way out to restructure football in the country and has set up a two man liaison team to oversee the running of the beautiful game on an interim basis.
