Chelsea are considering bringing in another striker in the January transfer window to compete with out of form Diego Costa.

According to a Daily Mail report, Jose Mourinho still wants Costa despite his recent row with the striker during their UEFA Champions League clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Others in the club however want Mourinho to bring in another striker to back up Costa.

Chelsea are planning to move for a striker that could provide a short term solution to their problems upfront before going after a big name frontman for Costa’s long-term replacements.

Harry Kane of Tottenham and Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid are in Chelsea’s wish list for next summer

The London club could go after Leicester inform striker Jamie Vardy and Saido Berahino of West Bromwich Albion in January.

Both have only 18 months left on their contracts and meet the Premier League’s criteria for a ‘homegrown’ player and would be available in Europe.

Free agent Emmanuel Adebayor and unsettled Fenerbache striker Robin van Persie have also been considered.
