I didn’t use juju to bench Adam Kwarasey in 2014 FIFA World Cup- Fatau Dauda

Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has rejected claims that he used black magic popularly known as juju to dethrone Adam Kwarasey as the first-choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Kwarasey-Dauda

Fatau Dauda went to the 2014 FIFA World Cup as the second choice goalkeeper and Adam Kwarasey kept the post as Ghana lost their first game of the tournament against Brazil.

However, Fatau Dauda was selected ahead of Kwarasey in Ghana’s second and third games of the tournament against Germany and Portugal respectively.

Rumours started circulating that Fatau Dauda allegedly used juju during the tournament to win Kwesi Appiah's favour and that was the reason why Kwarasey decided not to return to the team again for fear for his life.

But Fatau Dauda has said that he would be playing for a topnotch side like Real Madrid or Barcelona if he has juju.

“Ghanaians have been saying it and I’ve been hearing it. That’s how our job is, you hear a lot of things about you," he told Citi TV.

If I had juju, I would go and play outside with Real Madrid our Barcelona and make big money. I train and I pray for God to protect me from injuries so I don’t know where these rumours are coming from.”

Fatau Dauda is now plying his trade for local side Legon Cities FC.
