Legon Cities settle for one all draw against Olympics on Val’s Day

Legon Cities settled for a one all draw against their neighbours Accra Great Olympics on Friday which happens to be Valentine’s Day.

Legon Cities celebrate their goal

Legon Cities took the lead through Yakubu Mohammed in the 23rd minute, but Ibrahim Sulley snatched the equalizer for the Wonder Club before the half time break.

The second half was a balanced game but it was Legon Cities who had most of the exchanges in terms of possession and opportunities created, yet they failed to find the back of the net.

In the late minute Accra Great Olympics were lucky not to have conceded a penalty when their goalkeeper Ernest Sowah seemingly brought down a Legon cities attacker in the 18-yard box. The referee ignored the call for a penalty to the relief of the Gt. Olympics faithful.

The side attraction of the game was a performance by female artiste Wendy Shay and the sharing of chocolates to all ladies who trooped to the stadium to watch the tie.

Wendy Shay sang and danced twerking her butt to amuse fans at the Accra Sports Stadium.

She is the fourth musician to perform at Legon Cities home league game since the team was purchased, renamed and relocated to Accra from Wa.

The first artiste to perform was Shatta Wale and it was followed by Kwesi Arthur and Medikal in that order.

Legon Cities formerly Wa All Stars is using music as a tool to drive supporters to the stadium.
