Spanish Media give Gareth Bale a new nickname and it's brutal

Bale had to come of at half-time during Thursday's 2-2 draw with Villarreal, with a medical report on Madrid's official website confirming tests revealing how Bale suffered a 'grade-I calf injury' to his left leg.

Manager Santiago Solari said he did not think the injury was serious but AS are reporting that he will be sidelined for two-four weeks, which would mean he misses league games against Real Sociedad, Real Betis and Sevilla, as well as a Copa del Rey tie with Leganes.

Remarkably, it's the 22th separate injury Bale has suffered in his time as a Real Madrid player and has led to the Spanish outlet referring to him as 'Mr Glass' on their front page.

His injury record is largely made up of muscular based injuries to the calf, hamstring and adductors and it's caused him to miss a total of missed 84 games.

He's still won four Champions Leagues and is closing in on 100 goals for the club but the 29-year old really has been hampered by injuries - and it's hard to put it down to bad luck because of the regularity.

Last year, it emerged that Wales manager Ryan Giggs had instructed his star player to only drive one car in an attempt to reduce muscle injuries.

He also requested he had a custom seat designed for his body's alignment.
