The selection of members onto the body in charge of the organisation of the Ghana Premier League changed, after Kumasi King Faisal waged legal battle against the Ghana Football Association. The clubs argued that their representatives should rather be on the board, against the old format that mandated the GFA President in consultation with the Executive Committee to appoint football administrators they think have the prerequisite know-how to help take decision at the PLB.
However, the Executive Committee still has the power to appoint the chairman and the vice chairman of the Premier League Board. Ashford Tettey Oku, the vice chairman of the dissolved PLB has been appointed as the chairman of the reconstituted board to replace Abra-Appiah, following his resignation.
The new Ghana Premier League season commences on 20th February, 2016, after four months of waiting due to litigation.
