Richard Ofori: “We were nervous against Japan”

The Local Black Stars number one believes they were overwhelmed by the Japanese in the early stages of their 0-3 defeat.

The Local Black Stars were handed a 0-3 defeat by the Japan Olympics team in an international friendly on Wednesday to raise funds for the flood victims of the Kumamoto earthquakes with all goals coming within the first 30 minutes of the first half.

Richard Ofori who has been blamed for committing blunders in some of the goals he conceded has stated that the entire team were jittery against a formidable Japanese side in the first and that contributed to their heavy defeat.

“We were nervous against Japan and that resulted in the three early goals we considered. But when Avram Grant and Maxwell Konadu spoke to us during the half time break we managed to contain them during the second half of the game.

“The Japan Olympics team is a well-rehearsed side. They know the movement of their teammates and play accordingly, he told Happy FM.
