Asante Kotoko to face Aduana Stars

Asante Kotoko were handed their first home league defeat of the season by New Edubiase on Saturday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi on match day 9 of the Ghana Premier League.

Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars will face off for this year’s SWAG cup.

The 2016 Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Cup will see Asante Kotoko battle it out against Aduana Stars.

Kotoko – who are 14 time champions of the SWAG Cup – will come into the game as defending champions having beaten Ashanti Gold 1-0 last year.

Aduana Stars will also be in high spirits after winning the 2016 GHALCA G-6 tournament last month. The Dormaa-based club also placed second in last season’s Ghana Premier League.

Both clubs will be looking forward to beginning the year on a high note, before the league season kickstarts. The encounter is reported to be slated for January 8, 2017.
