I will expose the Rawlingses – Henry Lartey

Dr Henry Lartey, had earlier said the ex-president has lied to Ghanaians about the amount of money he received from Mr Abacha, saying Rawlings received $5million and not $2million as he had earlier claimed.

Disqualified presidential nominee of the Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP) Dr Henry Lartey has threatened to reveal damming information about the former President Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

Dr Lartey who was speaking to Accra-based 3FM said he will organise a press conference where he expose the Rawlingses.

“I’ll tell the whole country at the Press conference. There is a lot to say about him and his wife, the corruption that has gone on in this country.”

Dr Lartey, had earlier petitioned the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for it to investigate an alleged cash gift former President Jerry John Rawlings’ is said to have received from late Nigerian leader Sani Abacha.

In his petition, Dr Lartey asked: “The full context and/or reason(s) in which the funds were issued: In particular, were these funds issued in support of killing the prominent Nigerian environmental journalist Ken Sara-Wiwa?.”

But in a response Former president Rawlings alleged that persons within the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) financially induced Dr Lartey to vilify and destroy his reputation.

Dr Lartey however denied this accusation saying his father left him enough asserts and this has made him incorruptible.

“If he’s got those facts he should come out and tell us. Who has paid me, my father left me a lot of assets and nobody can pay me to do what he’s claiming. I am going to have a press conference to reveal more about them,” Dr Lartey insisted.
