17 discharged from 37 Military Hospital

Seventeen people have been discharged from the 37 Military Hospital after receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the Wednesday flood and inferno disaster in Accra.

Deputy Public Relations in Charge of Protocol at the Ghana Armed Forces, Major Evelyn Asamoah, has said that other patients are being attended to.

Over 200 people are reported dead while properties running into millions of cedis have been destroyed by the torrential rains that fell for over three hours.

Some people who had gathered in front of a Pharmacy Shop at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle near the Goil Filling Station adjacent to the GBC Towers to seek for refuge from the heavy downpour unfortunately lost their lives following a fire outbreak at the Goil filling station.

Bodies retrieved from the debris have been deposited at various hospitals in the Capital, Accra.

Meanwhile, the Agricultural Development Bank Ghana Limited (adb) has made a cheque donation of GH₵50,000 apiece to the Ridge and 37 Military Hospitals to help deliver medical care to victims of the Wednesday floods and inferno disaster.
