Ghana’s government has released GH¢50 million to provide relief to the families that lost their relatives in the deadly flood that hit the nation’s capital last night.
Some people had gathered in front of a Pharmacy Shop at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle near the Goil Filling Station adjacent to the GBC Towers to seek for refuge from the heavy downpour but unfortunately lost their lives following a fire outbreak at the Goil filling station.
President John Mahama declaring three days of mourning for the over 100 people who died in Wednesday’s flood and fire disasters in Accra stated that, “government has allocated an amount of 50 million cedis to cover relief and humanitarian operations, repair of damaged infrastructure and dessilting and clearing of water ways…”
