Avram Grant coached Gyan from 2015 to 2017 when he was in charge of the Black Stars.

The former Chelsea boss led the Black Stars to the final of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where Gyan and Co. lost to Ivory Coast on penalties.

The Israeli left the Ghana job in 2017 following the expiration of his contract, after failing to guide the country to continental glory.

“Nice meeting you after two years, coach,” Gyan wrote, accompanied by a photo of himself sharing a drink with Grant.

Gyan joined NorthEast United on a free transfer in September 2019 after leaving Turkish club Kayserispor in June.

He has since made a flying start at the club, netting two goals in his first three league games for the Indian side.

Meanwhile, Grant previously served as manager and, later, Technical Director at NorthEast United.
