Ex-South African striker Benni McCarthy was on Tuesday, May 5 robbed at gunpoint at a barber sho in South Afrcia.

The agent of the former Porto striker who won the UEFA Champions League under Jose Mourinho in 2004  told local radio that McCarthy was robbed of his jewelries and cash from him.

According to Percy Adams, the robber pointed a gun at McCarthy's face and took his watch, ear and wedding rings.

Adams revealed that other customers stood watch as McCarthy got robbed.

Benni McCarthy holds the record of international goals for a South African with 32 goals.

Last year, South Africa goalkeeper and captain Senzo Meyiwa was shot and killed in a house robbery.
