One of the alleged ‘killers’ of lynched soldier found dead

The Diaso District Police Command has found one of the men captured in a video of the lynching of Captain Maxwell Mahama dead.

Diaso District Commander, ASP Osei Adu Agyemang who confirmed the story to Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, said the Assembly Member for Modaso reported to the police that there was a lifeless body in the area.

“The Assembly Member for Modaso Area, one Mr Isaac Aidoo lodged a complaint with the Diaso Police informing them about the discovery of the body of a male adult in front of an uncompleted building at the outskirts of the town.

"According to the Assemblyman, this body was found this morning when residents from the community woke up…”

Police found the body in a pool of blood early Thursday (July 1, 2017). It is not clear what may have caused his death, however the police have started investigation into the incident.

The deceased held in his hand polythene which contained an Identity Card bearing the name Francis Bio, aged 46.

Adam Mahama was the victim of mob justice by a group of residents in a town in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region.

He was lynched to death by residents on suspicion of being an armed robber while he was jogging.

Four prime suspects arrested in connection with the incident have been sent to the Central Regional Police Headquarters in Cape Coast.

Meanwhile, the Assemblyman for the area, William Baah, is also in the grips of the police.
