Atletico Madrid went on to record a hard fought 3-2 win over Jurgen Klopp’s side in a game that needed extra time to settle the scores.

While many Liverpool fans were unhappy about the result, Costa also angered some journalists in the mixed zone at Anfield.

The striker, while walking past a curious set of pressmen and women, deliberately coughed as he laughed.

Costa may have considered it as a joke, but some of the journalists were left angry, especially when the coronavirus outbreak is yet to be curtailed.

On Wednesday evening, Juventus defender Daniele Rugani tested positive for the coronavirus.

Juventus in a statement said "those who have had contact with him" are being isolated as well.

The deadly Coronavirus has been declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organisation.
