Daniel Craig's James Bond Parody on Saturday Night Live Will Tide You Over Until No Time to Die Is Released
"You may have heard that the release of the film has been delayed due to public health concerns," he said in his opening monologue. "There's this scene that's my favorite, and the producers have been kind enough to let me show it tonight. So let's take a look."
What follows is a sketch which opens much like a genuine clip from a 007 adventure, with Craig's character entering a casino and immediately encountering a vampish Bond girl, played by new SNL cast member Chloe Fineman. They trade barbs for a few moments, and then the tension is broken when Bond casually rolls a 7 at the craps table.
The famous spy's ultra-cool exterior immediately dissolves as Bond gets swept up in the game, ignoring the femme fatale at his side and drawing nearby gamblers (played by the likes of Kate McKinnon, Kel Thompson and Heidi Gardner) into his rising frenzy. He even ditches his iconic drinks order, a vodka martini, in favor of a much less cool vodka and Red Bull (in a pint glass, no less).
Unlike plenty of other SNL sketches, the joke doesn't get dragged out too long; the casino worker is exposed as an enemy agent, Bond promptly shoots him, and the party continues. Fin.
