Get a job if you want money in your pockets - Mahama

Most often some Ghanaians including members of the opposition parties have said that even though the NDC government claims to have developed the economy to a better level, they do not feel the developments in their pockets.

If Ghanaians want to have physical cash in their pocket then they must work for it.

This is according to President John Dramani Mahama.

The president was speaking when he took his turn at the presidential encounter organised by the state broadcaster; Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).

Most people argue that prices of products have rather increased with the value of money rather declining.

But president Mahama said "you can only have money in your pocket if you work and earn."

“Nobody is going to come to your house and say put this in your pocket. You have to come out and take the opportunity that presents themselves. Learn a skill, go into the world of work and you will be able to put money in your pocket.”

President Mahama however seems to be contradicting himself by this new saying. At an inauguration of a Community Day Senior High School at Kwaboah Nyanoa in the Eastern Region President Mahama promised a better economy that will help he general public to feel the physical cash in their pockets.

“We have spent these last four years investing in bringing the social infrastructure back to scratch and when I win the second term, then we will start putting money in your pocket. And I wish to pledge that we will continue working in the interest of the people of Ghana.”
