The Presidential nominee of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has said that he will deport all Chinese nationals engaging in illegal mining if he becomes President after the December 7 polls.

Dr Nduom was addressing a rally at Ejisu-Juaben in the Ashanti Region.

As a result of the unregulated operations of the galamsey operators, the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing has warned of a likely closure of three major water treatment dams.

The dams are the Barekese dam, the Kyebi Treatment plant and the Daboase water treatment plant.

Also, the Supreme Council of the Ghana Cocoa Board has warned that the unrestrained lease of cocoa lands in cocoa growing is threatening cocoa production output.
