The ‘Eastern Mambas’ is made up of a group of over 40 well-built men who have been trained by the NDC.

The party maintains that their job is to provide security for every constituency in the Eastern region.

Political vigilantism has been rampant in the country in recent years, with several cases of vandalism and abuse attributed to these groups.

Most of these vigilante groups are associated the NDC and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NPP is affiliated to the ‘Delta Force’ based in the Ashanti region, ‘Kandahar Boys’ based in the Northern region and the ‘Invincible Forces’ based in Accra, while the NDC's vigilante groups also include 'The Dragons' based in the Brong Ahafo region, the ‘Hawks’ based in the Ashanti region and 'The Lions'.
