F1 champion attends Met Gala

Lewis Hamilton is enjoying his brief holiday in the United States and was among the slew of celebrities that attended the Met Gala on the night of Monday, May 4.

The F1 world champion was pictured on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to help raise money for its Costume Institute.

He also posted a photo of himself at the gala on Instagram.

"At the Met Ball with my friend Sir Philip Green! He hooked me up!" the English racer wrote.

He was also in Vegas on Saturday, May 2 apparently to watch the mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

He will be back in action this weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix.
