Hearts of Oak players after stunning Medeama SC 2-0 last Sunday pocketed Ghc 1000 as match winning bonus.
The Phobians defied all odds to make history after recording their first ever away Premier League win over Medeama at the T&A Park in Tarkwa thanks to second half strikes from Cosmos Dauda and Eric Kumi.
“It is true that the players after beating Medeama pocketed Ghc 1000 as winning bonus, prior to the game. The Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV met the players and promised them that he will increase their winning bonus to 800 per player if they win the game and also Alhassan Andani promised each player Ghc 200 making 1000,” a source within the club told Pulse.com.gh
“The club’s Board took that initiative because of the magnitude of the Medeama’s game, in the history of the club we have not won against them in Tarkwa so for the players to give their maximum output the Board made that promised,” he added.
The win thus means that the Phobians are unbeaten in two games since the 2016 Ghana premier league takes off two weeks ago and their next league game is away to Dwarfs.
