The 28-year-old left the Hammers on transfer deadline day to rejoin Swansea City in a club record £18 million move.

Ayew had a frustrating one-and-half years at West Ham, having been restricted to cameo appearances after suffering an injury that disrupted his debut campaign.

However, the former Olympique Marseille star believes talk of him being a flop at West Ham are misplaced.

According to him, his stats prove that he was a far better player than most of his former team-mates and has no regrets over rejoining Swansea.

“As soon as I moved to West Ham, I got injured for a long time and then I went to the African Cup of Nations,” Ayew told Swans TV.

“But when I look at my statistics and my time from August until now, I think I am one of the most efficient players, if not the most efficient.

“I am not one of the players who played the most games, but I have no regrets.

“Things could have been much better if I had not got the injuries or if I’d played more games.

“But when I look at my statistics and those of others who play in my position and had more game-time than me, I don’t have to envy anyone.”

Ayew’s move to Swansea means he is set to reunite with younger brother, Jordan, with both players having also played together while at Marseille in France.
