Singer Jamelia received online blacklash over her remarks about overweight teenagers who should be 'punished' for being too fat.

In an interview with ITV show, Loose Women, the 34-year-old mother of two said obese women 'should feel uncomfortable' about their unhealthy size.

The singer insisted that high street stores shout not be catering for such women or even teenagers.

''I do not think it's right to facilitate people living an unhealthy lifestyle, in the same way I don't believe that a size zero should be available - it's not a healthy size for an average woman to be. Yes, have specialist shops, but you should feel uncomfortable if you are unhealthy... to be available in every High Street store, I don't think that's right.'' she added

Viewers quickly criticised the former singer's comments on Twitter, with many declaring she should be 'sacked' from the show.
