Former Germany coach Joachim Löw has firmly denied reports linking him to the Ghana national team job, stating that he has not been contacted by Ghanaian football authorities.
The 2014 World Cup-winning coach was widely reported in recent days to be in talks to take over the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, Löw has now shut down those claims.
“No one from Ghana has officially spoken to me,” he said in an interview with Sky Sports Germany.
The speculation gained momentum following the departure of Ghana head coach Otto Addo, who was relieved of his duties just weeks before the World Cup.
The sacking came on the back of back to back losses including a 5-1 defeat to Austria as well as 2-1 loss to Germany.
Reports had suggested that Löw was close to agreeing a short-term deal to lead Ghana into the tournament, even claiming advanced negotiations and salary details.
But now, the interview with Sky Sports clarifies rumours indicating that no formal talks have taken place, contradicting earlier claims.
Ghana is currently in a race against time to appoint a new head coach ahead of the World Cup.
The Black Stars are set to compete in a tough group that includes England, Croatia, and Panama.
The coaching vacancy has attracted several high-profile names, with Löw among those heavily linked due to his experience and success at the international level.

Since stepping down as Germany coach after Euro 2021, Löw has not taken up another managerial role, despite being linked to several national teams.
His latest comments make it clear that, at least for now, he is not in discussions with Ghana. For Ghana, the focus is finding a suitable replacement quickly, as preparations for the World Cup continue.
