Ghanaian forward
The former Olympique Marseille and FC Lorient player was suspended for three games after his elbow on Aaron Cresswell in Aston Villa’s 2-0 defeat against West Ham United last month.
In Jordan Ayew’s absence, Aston Villa continue to battle in a bid to avoid the drop and won one of those three games conceding ten goals in the process.
Aston Villa coach Remi Garde has urged the Ghanaian player to prove to everybody he regrets his mistake in the West Ham game and do his possible best to help the relegation threatened club.
Remi Garde said ahead of Jordan Ayew’s return:
“Jordan can be important now.
“In a period when the team wasn't performing Jordan was playing well.
“He made a big mistake: for the team. I'm sure that he will have to prove to his teammates and everybody else in the club that he regrets his mistakes and do his maximum.”
Aston Villa play Everton at home on Tuesday night before travelling to Capital One Cup champions Manchester City on Saturday. Ayew’s team will then return to Villa Park to host league contenders Tottenham Hotspur the following weekend.
