Rev. Prof. Charles Ansah has been appointed as the new pro vice-chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

In a letter signed by the Acting Registrar, Ben O. Andoh announcing his appointment said: “It is announced for the information of all members of staff, students and the entire University Community the Council of the University, at its 241st (Regular) Meeting held on Friday, October 07, 2016, appointed REV. PROFESSOR CHARLES ANSAH as PRO VICE-CHANCELLOR for a Two Year Term with effect from OCTOBER 01 2016- SEPTEMBER 30, 2018.”

Rev. Prof. Ansah replaces the former pro vice-chancellor Professor Samuel Nii Odai. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals before his appointment.

Prof. Ansah is a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and holds a PhD, MSc., DIC, BParm, FGHCPharm.

He had his two-year national service at the Faculty of Pharmacy and was appointed as a Teaching Assistant in 1990.

He is a Consultant/Expert for the West African health Organisation (WAHO) on the safety of medical plants and played a key role in the preparation of the West Africa Pharmacopoeia which was recently published by WAHO and is currently the Chairman of the team of experts working on the second volume of the West Africa Herbal Pharmacopoeia.

Professor Ansah is a Minister of the Gospel of Christ and serves as an Associate Minister of the Christ Congregation, the Presbyterian Church on the University campus.

Rev. Ansah is married to Gertrude Ansah with four children.
