The Auditor General’s report has revealed that the Electoral Commission of Ghana spent more than 1.7 million Ghana Cedis on allowance.

The EC cold not provide valid documents on the expenses made.
An Audit report presented to Parliament said, “The Commission made a total of over 1.6 million Ghana cedis between January 4 and May 2013 for allowances. But this expenditure did not have any supporting documents.
“The EC also made total payment of over 1.3million Ghana Cedis on 50 vouchers between June 2011 and May 30, 2013.
Supporting documents were made but just a little over 1.2million Ghana cedis with a difference of over 150,000 Ghana cedis not accounted for,".
