It's been cited that as many as 97% of Americans don't wash their hands properly . And in the time of the coronavirus, that's simply got to change. For some, this has meant singing "Happy Birthday" over and over again, one hand-washing session after another. But as Brandon Flowersfrontman of The Killersdemonstrated in a video posted to social media Thursday night, there are more songs that can be a guideline. Namely, his band's all-time karaoke hit "Mr. Brightside."

In recent days, a meme has been going around that makes it seem like a building full of people quarantined in Italy are all singing different songs off their balconies. When one featured The Killers' "Mr. Brightside," the band felt the need to step in and clear things up. "This isn't real," the group said in a tweet quoting the video .

Not long after, though, the band followed up with a Tweet captioned "But this is." The video saw Flowers diligently wash his hands as he sang the chorus of "Mr. Brightside." The video is 34 seconds longsounds like a strong and efficient hand wash to us.

Other Killers songs could probably work here as well. "When You Were Young"? Hell yeah. We may not know if we are human or dancer, but we do know that "Human" would be a hell of a hand-washing jam.

Flowers isn't the only one who's shared his good hygiene via hand-washing social media post. Over the weekend, Marvel Cinematic Universe star Sebastian Stan also posted a video of him washing his hands as he sang "Happy Birthday."

"Life 2020. Be safe out there. Think of your loved ones, parents, kids, the elderly. Be kind and mindful of others," the Winter Soldier actor wrote. "Wash your hands. #coronavirus #wereallinthistogether " Whether it's "Happy Birthday," "Mr. Brightside," or maybe even another Killers cutsure, "All These Things That I've Done" is long, but can't hurt, rightwhat's especially important right now is to practice good hygiene, and these guys are providing great examples.
