Netflix's Love Is Blind Is the Reality Dating Show We Need in Our Lives
Here's everything we know about the show.
First: What the heck is Love Is Blind?
The show is a cross between The Circle, 90 Day Fianc, and Blind Date (remember that gem?). Heres how it works, according to Netflix: A group of men and women will be isolated from the rest of society and given the opportunity to talk to potential partners while in individual pods. They are not talking face-to-face, and have no idea how their partners look. (But still everyone is super hot, because duh, it's TV.) Conversations start with small talk, eventually growing into meaningful heart-to-hearts. The contestants then will whittle down their partner to that one special person, and have the opportunity to get engagedall without ever having met IRL.
After they get engaged, the couples get to meet in-person for the first time. Together, they're released back into the real world to plan their wedding. As you can guess, this is where drama ensues... I mean, at the end of the official trailer, you see a runaway bride frantically fleeing from the chapel.
Whos hosting Love Is Blind?
Nick Lachey, from the boy band 98 Degrees, and his wife, Vanessa Lachey, will host the series together. The two have had hosting gigs before: Nick hosted the NBC a capella reality show The Sing-Off, and Vanessa has been a New York-based correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and co-hosted MTVs Total Request Live.
When's the release date?
Netflix will drop a total of 10 episodes over the course of three weeks, a similar structure to how they released Rhythm + Flow. The first five episodes will be released on February 13, the next four on February, 20, and the last episode, which will be a two-hour finale, will be available on Netflix come February 27.
Who's in the cast?
Netflix hasnt yet released the full list of cast members on the show, but Distractify was able to track down a few contestants who will be on it. Check out some of their profiles here:
