The former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John has been reported dead.

According to reports, he died at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital after a short illness.

Sir John, until his death, served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission of the country.
