Jailed South African athlete Oscar Pistorius is set to be released in August after just serving 10 months.

The 'Blade Runner' was sentenced to five years last year for the 2013 Valentine's Day killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

A family member according to several reports revealed that the 28-year-old will be released on parole in August.

The South Africa’s supreme court of appeal has set a November date for prosecutors to appeal against Oscar Pistorius’s acquittal .

The 28-year-old was convicted of culpable homicide but prosecutors appealed, saying the double-amputee Olympic athlete should have been found guilty of murder.
