Music mogul creating a Broadway musical about Hip-Hop

Influential Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons has announced his plans to start a Hip-Hop themed Broadway musical named ''.

'The Scenario' will ”be half-concert, half-storytelling. Something like this deserves a little bit of a love story and a little bit of [Public Enemy's] ‘Fight the Power" said the founder of Def Jam Records.

Russell Simmons got the inspiration for the Hip-Hop Broadway play after watching 'Rock of Ages', a hard rock musical.

The Broadway play will be done in conjunction with Dan Charnas. The Hip-Hop historian will write the script for the play. It will be a mix of original rap songs and musical versions of classics.
