Barcelona striker ordered to return Champions League

Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen has reportedly been asked to return his UEFA Champions League medal.

The Belgian was signed from Arsenal last summer but injuries limited him to just one La Liga appearance.

Vermaelen did not play a single Champions League match with Barcelona but picked up a medal, but according to reports from Belgium, the 29-year-old has been asked to return it.

The defender according to reports was  ordered to give his medal back, presumably on the grounds that he definitely didn't deserve one.

UEFA are yet to confirm or deny the report.
