Video uploading site celebrates 10th year birthday

Youtube has come a long way from the first video posted online 10 years ago to becoming a dominating force is video streaming and uploading technology.

On the official anniversary blog, a statement posted by Youtube states: "10 years in, you continue to redefine how the world experiences music, entertainment, and news. How the world laughs and how the world learns. How we shape political events and how we connect over the things we love."

Youtube says it is going to post the greatest hit videos that have made impact across the globe, and defined the progress of the platform, in the weeks to come, on the YouTube trends blog.
