Japanese fans troop to watch Accra Hearts of Oak

The Kenichi Effect comes with a new fan base for Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak

One might have been forgiven for thinking there was a Japanese convention at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday as hundreds of residents trooped to the stadium.

Their reason?

To watch the first competitive game of new Accra Hearts of Oak boss Kenichi Yatsuhashi against New Edubiase .

Clad in the replica shirt of the Phobians, they shouted and cheered every move the Phobians made under the guidance of the former school teacher who looks to have won the fans over after a difficult start to his professional coaching career.

It looks like Togbe Afede struck the motherlode as a new fan base has opened up for the Phobians.
