Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan went berserk on Instagram live yesterday, December 2, 2024, revealing things in a tell-it-all session that saw him touch on many things.

Gyan spoke extensively on his time as part of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team for the 2024 General Election, and his decision to finally exit the team before the NPP was heavily defeated.

Gyan was expected to use his influence to persuade young people to support development after being appointed to the NPP's Youth and Sports Manifesto committee.

He, however, left in controversial circumstances with a video of him confronting some members of the team going viral and suggesting foul play.

He first opened up about his reason for joining the party.

All I wanted to do was use my brand to help the youth and I knew I could do great things because even with my own funds I had done a lot. I knew with state funds I could take things to another level.

That is why I decided to join the NPP.

However, according to him, the party was using him to attract voters, and as a result, he lost respect after the whole brouhaha surrounding his exit.

Not knowing they were using my popularity because the economic situation in the country was tough for the citizens. They wanted to use my fan base and popularity to attract voters.

That is how I was used and I lost my respect in front of people because of this. God is not going to forgive anyone who is involved.”
