Social media users were shocked after the reports that Kwaku Bonsam named his son, who was born on 1st February, after the Ghanaian rapper. Now, the popular fetish priest has explained why he chose the rapper’s name for his son.

During a Facebook live video, Kwaku Bonsam explained that Sarkodie was a talented and hardworking artiste who fought for the music industry, adding that he was hopeful his child would grow to be responsible like the ‘Ofeetso’ hitmaker.

Kwaku Bonsam further detailed that he believes names have an impact on children, therefore, he chose a responsible character to name his son after. According to Kwaku Bonsam, his decision was also informed by Sarkodie’s respect for him as he has acknowledged him in one of his songs.

This becomes the second time the controversial fetish priest has decided to name a child after a popular Ghanaian showbiz personality. Two years ago, he also named his daughter after dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and explained that he did so out of his personal love for the dancehall act.
