'Love what you do, and do what you love' - IamShakez to young creatives

UK based Sierra Leonean DJ, producer and entrepreneur, Celestion Oladipo Mahib famously known by his stage name DJ Shakez , has urged young talents in the entertainment industry to love what they do.

IamShakez believes this will help them to deliver at their best without struggle, indicating that, "because your profession will become your hobby."

His love for music pushed him into becoming a DJ. He first started off as a grime Mc, Grime is an electronic music style that originated in London in the early 2000s and this began Dj Shakez journey to becoming international DJ.

Dj Shakez attributes his love for his career as what pushed him to appreciate his small beginnings where he started playing from small pubs and house parties. He has gone ahead to work with a lot of radio stations in the UK and has toured with artists like Not3s and The Game.

He also stressed on the issue of believing in oneself and knowing your worth in order to achieve greater heights. When asked if he has ever doubted himself in his career path, he said no.

Dj Shakez believes he is a sign of hope to the young adults in Africa and most importantly Sierra Leone.

“In Sierra Leone, a lot of young generation look up to me, I am a sign of hope to some of them. They believe if I can make it they also can”He concluded.
