The 34-year-old singer said in an interview with Hitz FM that the pay cheque gave him the chance to afford a bottle of beer for the first time.

Talking about his success in the music career, Samini says he has realized how successful he was becoming in the music career after seeing himself in Mary Agyapong’s ‘Twe ben me’ music video.

Samini has won several awards including "Best African Act" at the 2006 MOBO Awards, "Best Performer" at 2009 MTV Africa Music Mideo Awards, Headies "Best African Act" 2010, "Most Gifted Reggae Dancehall Video Atist" at 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards and "Album of the Year" at 2011 Ghana Music Awards.
