'Delete that nonsense' – Shatta Wale lashes out at trolls after Stonebwoy 'Grammy snub’

Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has taken a stand against online trolls targeting fellow musician Stonebwoy, who was not included in the nominations for the 66th edition of the Grammy Awards.

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale, known for his past confrontations with Stonebwoy, encouraged fans to stop the trolling and instead show support for Stonebwoy.

He urged everyone to avoid harboring ill will and negative sentiments, emphasizing that he does not take pleasure in others' misfortunes.

Shatta Wale expressed his wisdom and the importance of celebrating if Stonebwoy were to win a Grammy Award, highlighting the positive impact it would have on Ghana.

In a TikTok Live broadcast, the Reggae/Dancehall star asked his to whom it may concern, especially his fans, Shatta Movement (SM), to focus on promoting his new hit Incoming featuring Tekno, instead of laughing at Stonebwoy, something he considers "stupid".

"Anybody who has posted or is mocking Stonebwoy that he wasn’t nominated for Grammys should delete it as soon as possible. It is a stupid thing to do. Total nonsense! There are songs we need to promote and this is the focus. Forget everything else. Everyone should delete that nonsense bulls*** thing.

"If Stonebwoy did not secure a nomination should that be your joy? God did not create me to watch people fall. I want everyone to rise. I want everyone to be successful and make money,” he said.

The Grammy Awards, held annually, honor outstanding recordings, compositions, and artists from the eligibility year, as determined by members of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Several Ghanaian musicians, including Stonebwoy, Rocky Dawuni, Amaarae, MOG Music, and Juls, submitted their songs for Grammy consideration.

However, unlike their Nigerian counterparts, no Ghanaian artist made the final list of nominees for the 2024 Grammy Awards.
