Few hours after reports that hiplife artiste turned rapper, Yaw Siki has rejected an offer from gospel musician, Sonnie Badu to assist him financially went viral, the latter has stated that the former need not to have granted the interview if he did not need help.

Sonnie Badu offered to support Yaw Siki after the former rapper revealed in an interview with Joy News that he lives on preaching in commercial buses.

But Yaw Siki speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz on Thursday said he is unable to accept the offer because Sonnie Badu declared his intention in public – an act the scriptures speak against.

In a rebuttal, Sonnie Badu posted on Instagram that he decided to support Yaw Siki because the convert made his needs known to the public.

Here is his unedited post:

It has been drawn to our attention that the young man Yaw Siki has rejected our help based on the following reasons: 1. Because I made it public. 2. Because I want fame from him … Lol I will not answer the second one.

I would think at least he would have been thankful to us for speaking about his situation since it had generated a lot of intrest. However, to answer his first accusation, the only reason we put it out on Instagram and social media was, We discovered him on social media from an interview he granted in the first place .

If he feels he did not need help he should not have granted the interview. No normal person would watch that and not want to help. Having said this , whatever was allocated for him has gone into other charitable projects…

We wish him well in all his endeavors … It’s still a great thing to serve the Lord so it’s a good decision and step he took since there is nothing in the secular world. We were actually interested in reviving his music in the gospel world as well since I was told he only has one single out…
